In an announcement welcomed by all industries, the Fair Work Commission has decided to increase the minimum wages by 1.75%. Moreover, this increase applies to workers of all wages; even those who avail their salaries from The National Minimum Wage. Since an award covers most employees, this increase in salary will apply to almost all of the workers in Australia.
However, if an award does not cover a worker, then their new National Minimum Wage will amount to $19.84 every hour. This commendable change will also apply to any employee covered by the JobKeeper Scheme only if they receive their payment through an award. Furthermore, these awards have been categorized into three major chunks. For Australia as a whole, the average farm cash income for all broadacre farms is projected to fall by 8% between 2018–19 and 2019–20—from $165,700 per farm in 2018–19 to $153,000 per farm in 2019–20. The lower 10 percent of these farm professionals make less than $35,020, and the top 10 percent receive earnings of more than $126,070. The average farmer salary varies depending on how well the crops do and changes in operational costs for farmers.
The increase for wages for those who belong to the first award will come into effect from the 1st of July, 2020. Some of the professions that are included in this award are teachers, child care personnel, and social assistance workers. Those whole belong to the second award will receive their hike from the 1st of November, 2020. Workers in the construction and manufacturing industries are categorized under this group. Finally, the growth for the third award will occur from the 1st of February 2020. Those who work in the world of accommodation and food services, arts and recreation, and aviation fall under this category. All in all, this decision will benefit workers who belong to the various strata of society.
